IS IT AN EMERGENCY OR NOT?

YES, IT IS AN EMERGENCY
NO, I'M NOT DYING
BUT I DON'T KNOW WHO TO CALL
TO FIND OUT WHAT I SHOULD DO
Call 1800 022 222
When you’re unsure, call Health Direct to speak to a registered nurse 24/7.
When you call Health Direct, you will speak to a registered nurse who can:
give advice and support to manage your symptoms safely at home
direct you to the most suitable health service, such as a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic or 24/7 pharmacy
arrange a consultation with a GP by phone or video call, who can provide scripts if needed
connect you to a virtual care service (including the Child and Adolescent Virtual Urgent Care Service or SA Virtual Care Service), who can assess and treat your condition virtually or refer you to a local service (including a Priority Care Centre if you need an in-person appointment).
And if it is an emergency, Health Direct will call an ambulance or direct you to the nearest emergency department.
