WHY ENROL TO VOTE?
It is compulsory by law for all eligible Australian citizens to enrol and vote.
If you are 16 or 17 you can enrol now so, when you turn 18, you'll be able to vote.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENROL?
You must:
- be an Australian citizen
AND
- be aged 18 years and over
AND
- have lived at your address for at least one month
PROVING YOUR IDENTITY FOR ENROLMENT
You will need to provide one of the following:
- Australian driver licence number
- Australian passport number
- Medicare card details
- Australian citizenship number
- Someone who is currently enrolled can confirm your identity.
18+ or proof-of-age cards are not accepted.
ENROLLING ONLINE
To enrol online to be able to vote in federal elections, state elections, by-elections and referendums, click HERE.
ENROLLING BY POST
Complete and print a PDF form (Click HERE).
Return it to the Australian Electoral Commission in your capital city.
ENROLLING BY VISITING THE A.E.C.
