SYNOPSIS:
In John Buchan's "The Thirty-Nine Steps," Richard Hannay, a bored man returning from South Africa, becomes a prime suspect in a murder after a chance encounter with a mysterious American who warns him of a dangerous assassination plot, forcing him to flee and uncover the truth.
